cell phone
Using a cell phone for many years, it was not going to increase the risk of benign brain tumor disease. Thus the results of a recent research conducted by scientists in Denmark.
Research involving the collection of data from the 2.9 million Danes, it menyimpullkan that mobile phone users for 11 years or more, does not have this type of tumor, also called by the name of vestibular schwannomas .
These findings contradict many previous studies. Scientists from Denmark, said that they found no long-term relationship between your phone and that tumor progression.
Vestibular schwannomas are mild tumor disease which theoretically arise from the energy absorbed by the brain from electromagnetic fields generated by mobile phones. On previous research, the World Health Organization classifies mobile phones as a potential cause cancer (carcinogens).
Research conducted by scientists Denmark is one of the largest to examine these issues. This study only records how long a person has a cell phone user. However, it does not record how often people are using mobile phones.
According to David Savitz, a professor from Brown University who sits in the WHO study panel, the latest discovery has become one of proving the absence of a relationship between use of mobile phones with an increased risk of vestibular schwannomas. However, Savitz said, research in this area still needs to be done.
Vestibular schwannomas grow around brain cells and involves a person's hearing and balance function. These tumors will cause one to loss of hearing, dizziness, and loss of balance.
If the tumor grows larger, this tumor may be pressing areas of the brain that is important so that it can also be life-threatening infected.
Because this type of tumor is very slow-growing tumor, so there is still a possibility of this tumor is known after more than 11 years. Therefore, the study participants must be continuously monitored to determine the development of vestibular schwannomas, in their bodies.
